The Anchorage, Alaska office of the American Diabetes Association is
seeking an organized, highly-competent and motivated individual to
provide administrative and logistical support to staff to ensure
efficient operations and completion of projects and events.
Essential Functions:
- Processes and maintains data for correspondence, reports, and
spreadsheets
- Receives and screens telephone calls for internal staff, volunteers,
and vendors and responds accordingly
- Maintain volunteer contact information and maintain volunteer
relationships
- Makes follow-up phone calls
- Assist staff in recruiting event participants and solicits for event
prizes
- Prepares materials and mailings for fundraising events
- Orders office supplies
- Assists with event logistics and may have responsibilities for the
administration portion of an event
- Responsible for processing financial receipts in accordance with
Association standards.
- Work on other special events projects as needed.
This position requires strong executive-level administrative/support
skills, management and data entry skills, and requires the ability to
multi-task. Strong customer service skills and telemarketing skills are
required as this position interacts frequently with association
volunteers, participants and staff.
This part-time position is scheduled for 15 hrs/week. Not eligible for
benefits.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Associate Degree preferred
- 2+ years of administrative experience
- Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including
Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Highly organized, detail oriented, and able to handle multiple
projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent interpersonal, customer relations, and communications skills
are essential
- Experience handling the inventory and ordering for office supplies a
plus
- Experience using oracle or some other financial management system a
plus
- Grant writing and/or press release writing skills a plus
- Must possess a valid driver's license
- Must have access to an automobile
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
